# Topics

> Cluster prompts by theme and see which areas your brand wins or loses.

## What is the Topics page?

The **Topics** page (`/dashboard/topics`) groups your tracked prompts by theme so you can see AEO performance at a higher level than individual prompts. Each topic shows:

* Topic name and prompt count
* Average visibility score across the topic's prompts
* 7-day delta
* Top competitor cited within the topic
* One-click drill-down into the topic detail page

## When to use it

* **Editorial planning** — pick the topic with the lowest score and weakest competitor lead; that's your next content sprint
* **Reporting to stakeholders** — topic-level stories ("we own EV Range, we're losing on Reliability") are easier to communicate than prompt-level metrics
* **Spotting drift** — a topic that drops while others stay flat usually signals a single competitor surge or content rot

## Topic detail page

Clicking into a topic shows:

* Every prompt in the cluster with per-platform visibility
* Aggregated citations across the topic's prompts
* Competitor mention frequency within the topic
* A "Generate brief" CTA if the topic has open content optimization opportunities

## Editing topics

From the Topics page you can:

* **Rename** a topic (the underlying prompts stay attached)
* **Merge** two topics — useful when AI suggestions create slightly different labels for the same theme
* **Delete** a topic (prompts become un-categorized)

<Tip>
  Keep topic names short (2–4 words) and intent-driven. *"EV Range"* is better than *"Electric Vehicle Driving Distance Comparisons"*.
